In spite of the short time of the Center’s existence and its limited resources, (with Allah’s help and blessing) we made a commendable achievement. In order to learn the Qur’an you have to learn the Arabic language, the language which the Qur’an is written. After that, the students are taught the Holly Qur’an and its proper pronunciation at early age. The Center has performed a number of cultural and educational inroads in Washington metropolitan Area that include:
Enrolling more than 130 students who learned the reading and writing the Arabic language in record six months period.
Taking part of the Qur’an recitation competition held at Dar-Alhijra Mosque in Falls Church, and Saudi Islamic Academy in Fairfax, where our students still hold the top three positions in the last three consecutive years. In particular, a Qur’an recitation competition participated by Islamic schools from North America held in 2007, the SCC scored top position. Special mention is given to student Eman Faris who came at the top of Qur’an recites.
